This is a family property on a large lot in San Jose, as a generous family gesture the grandparents moved to the rear of the lot where we designed a 900 SF ADU. The main house was also completely remodeled and added 498 SF. Permits were approved and construction began in summer of 2020. Keeping the house in the family allowed the younger generation to keep the lower property tax structure without purchasing a new property.
